Compensated my sweet tooth with sugar free stuff. And eat hypo-caloric. Or at most to maintain. Lost a metric ton of weight but.. I still need to shed off quite a bit to be healthy. Good luck man, it's not easy but not impossible.

  • All mental health can be solved with nutrition. Seriously, get a blood test and see what your levels are. There is nothing more dangerous than white flour and sugar...it's something I've struggled with too. If your body gets the right amount of minerals, vitamins, and amino acids it doesn't go into hunger and mental health is vital. The yeast in your gut also plays a huge role in your mental thoughts. Take Chromium Picolinate to help cravings and stop the yeast in your gut from demanding unhealthy foods. And remember it's natural to fluctuate with your emotions. It's ok...the worst thing in our society today is that docs want to give everyone a pill if they don't feel on top all the world all of the time. Go outside and soak up the sunshine. Practice gratitude, and decide to be happy.

I have friends but mostly i feel like the interactions benefit them more than me. Ive walked away from many people in the past and moved on not too worried about blowback. That is not worded well and i know it. I dont know why i dont connect well with other people but sometimes i wish i did.... Maybe some of us are just built different? I end up filling time in with games, i used to work on my cars a lot but have had to downgrade into smaller accommodation so now i just sit at my computer and do whatever happens first...

  • I'm dealing with the same kinds of anxiety and depression, i mean if you look at the world right now, everything seems to be f*cked up. There's Covid and everything that comes with it, lockdowns, isolation, some can't even go to work, business are closed, you can't be among people, no entertainment. And then there's overreaching governments grabbing our rights, forcing their bs policies upon us. You see the whole thing with racism and white supremacy, you wonder where all that came from, why's everything about race, why can't we just be people and tolerate each other. And then you see a lot of other bad things and you start feeling sad and anxious, you start missing people you don't even know and you feel bad for the slightest things and you don't understand why.

  • Not having any close friends is a huge red flag that "how you are" regarding people is not working. You need to let more people in, close the gap, and stop allowing yourself to be so distant. As someone who also has those tendencies, I can tell it's a survival mechanism. Letting people in means potentially getting hurt. All obvious stuff, I know, but acknowledging you have those fears is step 1.

  • With a platform and following such as yours, being this raw and vulnerable must not have been easy. Big props to you, sir. It takes a lot to be honest about one's own mental health and well-being. Depression is far more insidious than many understand. You're a good man, Jeremy. I commend you for having the courage (yes, I will willfully use the term here) as you reside on a plane of existence that fosters targeted beratement, and misplaced hatred toward you merely for having opinions and the ability to express them. I have been a fan of your work for some time. You are a reasonable voice amidst the clatter of ideological noise. I am a man with no platform; and even I find the daily strolls through the vapid ghetto that is Twitter and other social spaces to be a depressing and laborious endeavor. Takes guts to do what you did in this video, Jeremy. Talking openly (especially as a man-which can be a nuanced bag of complexity) is beyond important. I lost both my mother and my sister to suicide. As a former soldier and medic, I have lost far too many to the loathsome will of depression and mental health illness and injury. Thank you for sharing this, my friend. Remember, you are loved and valued, even when you can and don't see it-I promise you, you are. Be well, and take care.

  • I too am just a "normal guy" i am 53 with grown children. I have worked in the mental health field for 30 years as well as having my own share of anxiety and depression during that time. Let me tell you that mental health people are not the supportive and understanding crowd you would expect. It seems that its just too close to home when one of their own is affected and maybe it scares them. Anyway my message is to go easy on harsh self criticism. It serves no positive purpose and is the same as digging your own hole deeper. Let go of all grudges and forgive everyone its just weighing you down. I do not know you but i can tell you are a decent person who works alot and being married to a work a holic i know you do not want to hear this but consider taking a break. Peace
